Version of [DATE DE MISE EN LIGNE]
These rules apply to all tournaments run on Strive — Competitive Series. A tournament may have specific rules, shown in the “Rules” tab of its page: in case of difference, the tournament's specific rules apply. By registering for a tournament, you accept these rules.
These tournaments are not sponsored, endorsed or administered by Psyonix LLC.
(THIS TOURNAMENT IS NOT SPONSORED, ENDORSED, OR ADMINISTERED BY PSYONIX LLC.)
>
The information players provide in connection with these tournaments is being provided to the tournament organiser and not to Psyonix LLC.
(THE INFORMATION PLAYERS PROVIDE IN CONNECTION WITH THIS TOURNAMENT IS BEING PROVIDED TO TOURNAMENT ORGANIZER AND NOT TO PSYONIX LLC.)
1. Organiser
Tournaments are organised by Strive's publisher (see the Legal notice). Contact: strive4esport@gmail.com. Sporting decisions are made by the staff (Moderators, Admins, Super Admins).
2. Who can take part?
- You must have a Strive account, so be at least 15, and comply with the Terms of use.
- You must have entered your exact Epic Games username, your platform and your real peak MMR.
- You must own a Rocket League account in good standing and comply with the terms of use of Rocket League and Epic Games.
- A player banned from Rocket League competitions by Psyonix cannot take part.
- A tournament may require a minimum number of games played or a profile verified by the staff.
- Staff members may play, but make no decision about a match involving themselves or their team.
3. Registration
- Entry is free. No purchase is required to take part in or to watch a tournament.
- You can register as a team, solo as a free agent, with your permanent team, or as a caster or coach.
- A player can only be registered in one team per tournament and plays only with their own account.
- The captain represents the team: they manage the players, report scores and speak to the staff on behalf of the team.
- Team names and logos must follow the code of conduct in the terms of use. The staff may change them or refuse a team.
- Registration closes at the time shown on the tournament page. The number of slots is limited.
- You can unregister as long as the tournament hasn't started.
4. Format and bracket
- The format depends on the number of teams: Swiss (fewer than 6 teams), round robin (6 teams), single elimination (more than 6), unless stated otherwise on the tournament page.
- The number of games (BO3, BO5…) is shown on the tournament page.
- The bracket is seeded by the players' declared peak MMR and published before the start (by default 1 hour before).
- Declaring a false peak MMR, rank or number of games to get a better draw is cheating (article 8).
5. Check-in and punctuality
- For each match, at least one player from the team must check in on the match page within the time shown (by default 10 minutes after the match is created, i.e. as soon as both opponents are known and, for the 1st round, when the tournament starts).
- Without check-in in time, the team is automatically disqualified and forfeits its remaining matches.
- Be available for the whole tournament: matches follow one another.
6. How a match is played
- The match is played in Rocket League in a private match. The match name and password are shown on the match page; the designated team creates the match. Don't share them with anyone else.
- Default settings: standard Soccar mode, standard arena, 5-minute duration, Europe region, unless the tournament states otherwise.
- Only players registered in the team may play. Substitutions are made between games, with a player registered in the team.
- Disconnection or technical problem: the game continues. If a problem occurs before the first goal and within the first minute, the game may be replayed with the agreement of both captains. In case of disagreement, the staff decides.
- A team that doesn't show up in the match within 10 minutes of both teams checking in may be declared forfeit by the staff.
7. Scores and disputes
- At the end of the match, a captain reports the score on the site; the opposing captain confirms or disputes it.
- Without confirmation or dispute within 2 minutes of the report, the reported score is automatically confirmed.
- Keep proof (screenshot of the scoreboard or replay) of each game until the end of the tournament.
- In case of a dispute, a dispute case is opened and the staff decides based on the evidence provided. Without evidence, the staff decides as best it can from the information available.
- Deliberately reporting a false score leads to disqualification.
- Staff decisions apply immediately so the tournament can continue. You can ask for a review by email to strive4esport@gmail.com within 48 hours of the end of the tournament; a result can no longer be changed after the rewards are handed out, except in case of proven cheating.
8. Fair play and cheating
The following are prohibited:
- cheating software, bots, scripts, macros or any modification of the game giving an advantage;
- deliberate exploitation of bugs;
- match fixing, collusion between teams, losing on purpose;
- lending an account, playing on someone else's account, secondary accounts (“smurfs”) and false declarations of skill level;
- attacks on an opponent's connection (DDoS);
- insults, harassment, discriminatory remarks and any toxic behaviour, in game, in the match chat or elsewhere on the site;
- betting money on Strive tournament matches.
Possible sanctions: warning, loss of a game or of the match, disqualification, removal of Prestige points and rewards, suspension or ban from the site (see terms of use, article 5). The sanction may target a player or their whole team. You are informed of the reason and you can appeal the decision.
If you suspect cheating, use the dispute or report button on the match page, or write to the staff, with your evidence. Don't publicly accuse a player.
9. Prestige ranking
Each tournament may award Prestige points according to the scale shown on its page. Points are awarded to players and, where applicable, to their permanent team. Prestige has no monetary value. See terms of use, article 7.
10. Rewards
- Most Strive tournaments have no material reward: you play for the ranking and the record.
- When a tournament offers a reward, its nature, amount and distribution are set in advance and shown on the tournament page before registration opens. They don't depend on the number of participants.
- As entry is free, no financial contribution is asked of players in exchange for a chance to win.
- Rewards are never funded by participants: no paid entry, no purchase required.- If a tournament's reward is provided by a partner, the partner's name is shown on the tournament page (“Partner: [name]”).
- Cash rewards: they are reserved for adult players, or for minors whose legal guardian has given written permission before the tournament. No cash reward is paid to a child under 12. Strive may ask for proof of identity and, for a minor, the legal guardian's permission and identity, before any payment.
- The reward is paid to the winner (or split equally between the players of the winning team, unless the captain requests otherwise with everyone's agreement) within 30 days of the end of the tournament, once the necessary information has been received. Without a reply from the winner within 60 days, the reward is forfeited.
- A reward may be withdrawn in case of proven cheating, even after the tournament.
- Each winner is responsible for declaring their winnings for tax purposes if the law requires it.
11. Broadcasting and image
Tournaments may be broadcast live or later (stream, videos, articles). By registering, you agree that your username, your team's name, your results and in-game footage of your matches may be broadcast by Strive and by the tournament's casters, without compensation. You may stream your own matches; a stream delay is recommended.
12. Cancellation, postponement, changes
Strive may postpone, change or cancel a tournament (not enough entrants, technical problem, game servers unavailable…). Participants are informed on the tournament page. The staff may adapt the format or schedule for the smooth running of the competition.
13. Release
To the extent permitted by applicable law, by participating in this tournament, players agree to release and hold harmless Psyonix LLC, its parent company, licensors, their affiliates, and its and their employees, officers, directors, agents, contractors and other representatives from all claims, demands, actions, losses, liabilities and expenses related to the tournament.
