Terms of use

This English version is provided for convenience only. In case of discrepancy, the French version prevails.

Version of [DATE DE MISE EN LIGNE]

Welcome to Strive — Competitive Series (“Strive”), a free community platform for Rocket League tournaments. These terms explain the rules of the site. By creating an account, you accept them. If you don't agree, don't use the site.

1. Who publishes Strive?

Strive is published by the person named in the Legal notice. Contact: strive4esport@gmail.com.

Strive is an independent project. The site and its tournaments are not sponsored, endorsed or administered by Psyonix LLC or Epic Games, Inc. Rocket League is a trademark of Psyonix LLC.

2. What Strive offers

Strive lets you create a profile, sign up for Rocket League tournaments (1v1, 2v2, 3v3), play your matches, create or join a team, interact with other players (friends, private messages, match chat), follow the Prestige Ranking and read the blog.

The service is free: creating an account, signing up and playing tournaments costs nothing and requires no purchase. If a paid service is ever offered, it will be subject to specific terms that you will have to accept separately.

3. Creating an account

  • Minimum age: 15. By creating an account, you declare that you are at least 15 years old. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 15, we close it and delete its data. A parent can write to strive4esport@gmail.com to ask for their child's account to be closed.
  • If you are between 15 and 17, talk to your parents before signing up: they remain responsible for you.
  • One account per person. Multiple accounts (“smurfs”) are prohibited.
  • The information you provide must be accurate: in particular your Epic Games username, platform, rank, peak MMR and number of games played, which are used to balance brackets. The staff may check and correct them.
  • Your account is personal. You may not lend it, sell it, or let someone else play in your place.
  • Choose a strong password and keep it to yourself. You can enable two-factor authentication in your settings. Tell us quickly if you think your account has been hacked.

4. Code of conduct

Strive is open to all levels and to a young audience. Everywhere on the site (username, picture, banner, bio, team name and logo, private messages, match chat, feedback, idea box), it is forbidden:

  • to insult, threaten, harass or humiliate anyone;
  • to post racist, antisemitic, sexist, homophobic or otherwise discriminatory words or images;
  • to post sexual, violent or shocking content;
  • to impersonate someone else (player, team, staff member, brand);
  • to post another person's personal information (real name, address, phone number, photo) without their consent;
  • to ask another player for personal information, photos or off-site contact for malicious purposes;
  • to advertise, spam, or offer to sell accounts, items, cheating or “boosting” services;
  • to cheat, fix a match or distort a ranking (see the Tournament rules);
  • to try to disrupt the site, access other people's accounts or data, or use bots;
  • more generally, to post any content that is against the law.

You are responsible for what you post. Only upload images (profile picture, banner, logo) that you have the right to use.

5. Moderation and sanctions

How we moderate. Moderation is done by people: the Strive staff (Moderators, Admins, Super Admins). There are no automatic sanction decisions. The staff acts when it notices a problem or when content is reported. Match chats are deleted at the end of the match, unless they have been reported: they are then kept while the report is handled. Private messages are not read by the staff, except after a report or a request from an authority.

Reporting. You can report content with the “Report” button or by email (see the Legal notice, section “Report illegal content”). Abusive or repeated bad-faith reports may be sanctioned.

Possible measures, depending on severity and repetition:

  • removal or modification of content (picture, banner, bio, team name or logo, message);
  • correction of declared information (peak MMR, for example);
  • warning;
  • disqualification from a tournament, removal of Prestige points or rewards;
  • temporary suspension of the account (1, 3, 7 or 30 days);
  • permanent ban.

You are informed. Every measure is notified to you with its reason (notification on the site, message shown at login in case of suspension).

You can appeal. If you think a decision is a mistake, write to strive4esport@gmail.com within 6 months, with your username and your explanation. Your request is reviewed by a different staff member from the one who made the decision, where possible, and you receive a reasoned reply.

Serious matters (threats, child sexual abuse material, glorification of terrorism, incitement to hatred, endangering a person) are reported to the authorities.

6. Tournaments

Taking part in tournaments is subject to the Tournament rules and, where applicable, to the specific rules shown on the tournament page. Entering tournaments is free.

No staff member may ask you for money, or accept money in exchange for a decision, a slot or an advantage. Report any such request to us immediately.

7. Prestige Ranking

Prestige is an internal Strive ranking, calculated from your tournament results. It has no monetary value, cannot be exchanged or transferred, and has no connection with Rocket League's official ranking. The points scale, seasons and resets are set by Strive and may change. The staff may correct a ranking in case of error or cheating.

8. What is public

Your username, picture, banner, bio, role (player, caster, coach), rank, peak MMR, Epic Games username, Xbox / PlayStation IDs if you provide them, team, tournament results, Prestige and online status are visible to other visitors. Your email, country and phone number are never public. Details in the Privacy policy.

By taking part in a tournament, you accept that your username, your team's name and your results appear in Strive's brackets, rankings, records and articles, including during a live stream of the tournament.

9. Intellectual property

  • The site (name, logo, visual identity, texts, code) belongs to the publisher. You may use it for your personal use, not copy or exploit it.
  • Your content (picture, banner, bio, team logo…) remains yours. You authorise Strive, free of charge, worldwide and for as long as the content is online on your account, to host it, display it and adapt it technically (resizing) to operate the site. This authorisation ends when you delete the content or your account.
  • Rocket League and its elements (name, logos, rank icons) belong to Psyonix LLC / Epic Games, Inc. They are used here under the game publisher's community rules, with no affiliation.

10. Availability of the site

Strive is a volunteer project, provided “as is”. We do our best to keep it running, but we don't guarantee that it will be available without interruption or bugs. The site may be suspended for maintenance. A tournament may be postponed or cancelled in case of a technical problem.

11. Liability

  • Strive is not responsible for the operation of Rocket League, Epic Games' servers, your internet connection or your hardware.
  • Strive hosts content posted by players and is not its author. We quickly remove illegal content we become aware of.
  • Links to other sites (Discord, Twitch, etc.) are provided for information; we don't control these sites.
  • Nothing in these terms limits the rights the law grants you, or the publisher's liability where the law forbids limiting it.

12. Closing your account

You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete my account, or by writing to strive4esport@gmail.com. Your personal data is then deleted; your past tournament results are kept in anonymous form (“Deleted player”) so as not to distort brackets and rankings. Details in the Privacy policy.

Strive may close an account in case of serious or repeated breach of these terms (see article 5), or an account inactive for 2 years, after warning you by email.

13. Personal data

See the Privacy policy and the Cookies page.

14. Changes to the terms

These terms may change (new features, change in the law). In case of a significant change, you are notified on the site or by email at least 15 days in advance, except for legal or security emergencies. If you don't agree, you can delete your account.

15. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by French law. In case of disagreement, write to us first at strive4esport@gmail.com: we will look for an amicable solution. Failing that, the French courts have jurisdiction, under the conditions provided by law. If you live in another European Union country, you keep the benefit of the protective rules of your country of residence.
