In short
Strive uses no advertising cookies, no analytics tools and no social media trackers. The site only sets the technical cookies that are essential to log you in and secure your account. That's why you don't see a consent banner: the law doesn't require one for this type of cookie (article 82 of the French Data Protection Act).
Cookies set by Strive
| Name | What it's for | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| `rl_session` | Keeping you logged in to your account. | Until you close your browser, or 30 days (extended on every visit) if you ticked “Stay logged in”. |
| `rl_2fa` | Checking the code received by email when two-factor authentication is enabled. | 10 minutes. |
| `oauth_state_discord`, `oauth_state_steam` | Securing the linking of your Discord or Steam account (protection against request forgery). | 10 minutes, only when you start the linking. |
| `theme` | Remembering the display theme you chose (dark or light). | 1 year. |
These cookies can only be read by the site (“HttpOnly”, except `theme`) and are not used to track or profile you.
What is kept in your browser (local storage)
| Name | What it's for |
|---|---|
| `strive-flappy-best` | Your best score in the waiting mini-game. It stays in your browser and is never sent to the site. |
| `arenarl.staffControls` | Staff only: show or hide the toolbar. |
Cookies from our security provider
The site goes through Cloudflare's network, which protects Strive against attacks and bots. Cloudflare may set a technical security cookie (for example `__cf_bm` or `cf_clearance`), strictly necessary for this protection and also exempt from consent.
How to refuse or delete cookies
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Note: without the `rl_session` cookie, you can't stay logged in to your account.
If this changes
If Strive ever adds a tool that requires consent (non-exempt analytics, embedded video, advertising…), a banner will let you accept or refuse before anything is set, and this page will be updated.
